The Bands

At Kalino Music and Performing Arts Academy, our major priority is to create the next generation of musician.
All our students are encouraged and inspired to join one of our performance training groups.
The groups Comprises of a variety of bands for various age groups and technical levels.

TRAINING

Groups are selected based on their age groups and skill level.
This helps to ensure that students fit in very well and quickly feel at home.

Friday Afterschool Band Sessions

Practise sessions are designed to train the students:

• to apply the already acquired knowledge in a band situation.
• to function in a band environment in order to fuse and coexist with other instruments without getting distracted.
• to relate and interact with other musicians, both at a professional level as well as at a social level.
• how to connect, operate and look after musical equipment.
• how to deal with nerves and stage fright.

PERFOMANCE

The bands will have great opportunities to perform through out the year. The bands have performed at music festivals, private functions, weddings, community events, markets, busking and school functions. the Performance department of the academy also always create themed events and variety shows every year. Our bands or band members are invited to participate.

COST

Most of the groups are run at no extra cost. Students need to be taking their lessons at the Kalino Music Academy to be considered for the bands and ensembles programs. External students will need to apply through the admin.
